Food Scene

One of the best restaurants in the Hudson Valley - less than 2 minute drive from our cottage. Great bar with incredible saketinis. Ray is the best bartender. Order the calamari "Asian street food style" with kimchi. Burgers are incredible - on our top 5 list (not on the menu per se, so you have to request them), and they have lots of other top notch mains. Great to sit out in the porch in summer.

Two words: streamside dining. Huge glass windows all along the back overlook a beautiful stream - dine outside in the warm weather and enjoy the sound of the rushing water. Very good food and nice bar as well.

NYC foodies know that Bread Alone got its start here in Woodstock but is now famous for providing its bread and other baked goods to many eating establishments in the city. Stop by on a Sat morning for one of their fresh baked pastries and Irving Farm coffee.

So it's Friday evening, you're on your way up from the city and you are hungry. But you don't want to cook. Cheese Louise is a little boutique shop with everything from amazing cheeses and fresh baked french baguettes to LennyB's smoked trout and a delicious assortment of small plates. Another one of our faves: dark chocolate slabs with toffee from local Lucky Chocolates.

Great ziplining if you like whizzing through - or above - the forest at pretty high speeds. Breathtaking views if you do the above canopy tour. Definitely memorable and a lot of fun with a group of friends.
