OK, this is at the pricey end of the spectrum, but if your budget allows for it! We have celebrated great moments there with family & friends. Nothing beats the view on a summer evening!

Best pizza. Need we say more. And this place is perched on the Manly ferry wharf - views can only be good, right?

A favourite spot for our family - we always pick the cafe, not the restaurant. Same quality food, lower price and more relaxed. A window seat allows you to take in the view of both North and South Heads (the entrance to Sydney's natural harbour).

Family friendly Lebanese. Opt to dine in the upstairs area and whatever you do - pick dishes to share, not one per person! You will not leave hungry in any case!

Rarely mentioned in guidebooks this spot is a must if you have a car to get you around. Requires NSW national parks' day fees to be paid at the park entrance, but well worth it. Bring a little snack or lunch basket. Fantastic.

A must! Only a half hour walk from the car park at Palm Beach, this old lighthouse offers you spectacular views over the Pittwater entrance, Lion Island and back towards the Northern Beaches peninsula. There is a lighthouse museum and if you get there early enough you can often get to go up to the lantern at the very top- breathtaking.

Walk the spectacular track from Spit to Manly. Unbeatable views of Sydney Harbour. Takes 2-4 hours depending on fitness and how many breaks you take along the way. Bring water and a little food. Don't do it on a 40+ degrees day.
