Verdala Palace is one of the official residences of the President of the Republic. It was built by the Knights of St John as the Grand Master's hunting lodge. The surrounding wood, known as Buskett, was also created by the knights for the hunting of wild boar and other animals. It is now a beautiful natural park with several protected species, and is ideal for hiking and picnics.
