A great park, right down the street from my building. Basketball courts, tennis courts, picnic benches, playgrounds - even a skate park. Highly recommended to blow off steam with the kids.

A little bit further of a walk from the apartment, but this is the best coffee and crepes in the area. One Parisian insists it's the best crepes in all DC. Good place for brunch.

A wine shop/restaurant with great food, this is a good place to eat in downtown Silver Spring. Kid friendly, and you pick your wine from the store and drink it right there with dinner.

Silver Spring has a big Ethiopian community, so there are a lot of Ethiopian restaurants in town. This is my favorite so far. I love the vegetarian platter.
