Pizza - Pasta. Dough & Shaker is the brand new all-day space in Pyrgos. Its doors have just opened, in April, 2016. The new meeting point, with indoor and outdoor spaces, has maintained the traditional character, still it has been totally renovated so as to adjust to the modern needs of a pasta bar / pizzeria. It’s true that at Dough & Shaker, all doughs –for pizzas, peinirli & pasta – are prepared on a daily basis so as the products to be really fresh! Pizza ingredients, cheese and cured meats are of supreme quality as the come from small Greek cured meat industries while vegetables and the rest of first materials are mainly local. As for the sauces (eg. pesto), all of them are made by them

The museum presents the technology of marble, a material with a particular place in the architecture and art of Greece, from ancient times to the present. At the same time, the intricate meshing of tools and techniques is described in detail. The permanent exhibition comprises a variety of original works in marble: mundane, ecclesiastical, funerary and everyday objects, clay models and plaster-of-Paris copies, as well as quarrying, cutting and carving tools, mechanical equipment, archival material and the richest collection of sketches of old marble carvings of the whole of Greece.

Beach - Surf spot. Must! It is located on the northern side of the island facing directly the north Aegean Sea. The strong northern wind meltemi that blows in summer months, particularly July and August, create great waves for surfing. Blowing at a speed of more than 5 on the Beaufort scale, this wind creates a great left wave and sometimes a smaller right. Kolymbithra is also a safe beach with sandy bottom. Tinos Surf Lessons was founded by local surfer John Vidalis. It offers surf tuition, surfboard rentals, and also other water sports equipment, like bodyboard, canoe, kayak and skimboard rentals. Kolymbithra beach is fantastic place for all levels of surfers, even for beginners.

The nearest beach. 2km long, it worth being considered as the largest -in acreage- beach of the island. Thanks to its short distance from Chora (2km), it seems ideal for those who do not have any conveyance because you can arrive there on foot. As for its features, it is characterized by the pebble-sand duet as well as the green artistic intervention of the shady trees. On the advantages, you may add the view towards the mystic Delos and the amenities of umbrellas, deck-chairs and beach bars. All along, you may find cafeterias, restaurants and taverns. If you want a piece of advice, prefer the part that is near the helipad of Tinos - Marathia Restaurant.

Pyrgos, the village of the marble artists. Lying away from the seashore and where a Venetian castle used to stand (the word “pyrgos” in Greek means “castle”) Pýrgos is one of the largest villages of the island and, definitely, the centre of the marble art of Tinos. The fountain dedicated to the Greek Revolution of 1821, the marble work on the churches, the houses and the two museums make obvious that sculpture enjoys a long tradition in Pyrgos. Since 1955 the Art School for Marble Sculpture has supported this long tradition.

Traditional village, Built in the shade of luxuriant verdure of plane and olive trees, this lovely village has picturesque stone paved narrow alleys, whitewashed steps, wonderful arches and magnificent traditional whitewashed old houses with flat roofs, colourful windows and doors and courtyards and balconies full of bright flowers. Most of those superb houses are made of marble and never fail to charm every visitor with their beautiful, spare lines. A stream runs through the village and cool water gushes out of the glimmering springs that adorn the village. Kardiani is a real marvel, among the prettiest villages of Tinos.

Traditional village. Volax village is located in a strange and unique site full of huge granite boulder formations, reminders of a volcanic eruption that took place some thousands of years ago. Those natural monoliths have different shapes and give to the landscape a unique natural charm; the white houses of the village contrast with the profound red of the rocks. The few inhabitants of Volax are basket-weavers and their workshops can be visited. Their works are of course for sale and might make a great and useful souvenir.

Traditional village. Dyo Choria: A calm, charming and attractive place situated in the edge of Kechrovouni mountain. It is a silently powerful place, identified by the waters of the five springs streaming out of its heart. Alleys with countless steps as well as arches form the natural and social web of the village that counts 900 years of continuous presence. There, Vagelis Desypris has created a space of his own, exactly as he had dreamt it of. The homonymous traditional café-restaurant is a meeting point. Have a taste of the traditional dishes that bring all tinian savors straight to your plate. Tip: Try visiting the tavern at the time when the sun goes down. Sunset will take your breath.
