Absolutely fresh, great ingredients...delicious. Their multigrain bread is wonderful, the cheese sticks positively addictive, and the focaccia is as loaded as a slice of pizza! Several gluten-free options, and lots of daily featured goods. All is baked daily in Port Townsend. (When Lisa lived in PT, she baked for them, and can attest to their total commitment to highest quality.) If we are going to eat bakery, we like it to be from Pane d'Amore.

An on-your-honor, pick-your-own-produce garden during the summer/fall growing season. We often stop at Lazy J while out on our bikes, to check out what treats they may have for dinner. Lazy J is a short distance from the Olympic Discovery Trail in Agnew (before descending the long hill going to Port Angeles). The owners happen to be wonderful dancers as well, and frequently offer lessons around the area!

We like their classic lime margaritas, over ice! They also carry local Bedford sodas (our favorite is the ginger beer). We often order Chile Rellenos or Spinach Portobello Enchiladas. They serve generous portions of chips with hot or medium salsa before the entrees arrive. It’s a great place to meet with a group; nice casual place that won’t break the bank. Unlike many local spots, they can accommodate larger groups, and offer an “American Menu” for those who don’t care for Mexican style cooking.

Victorian-style theater has an upstairs screen, with plush love-seats and living room chairs for seating. There are light meals served from the little attached kitchen, and you can order drinks from the bar. Best movie popcorn ever. Real butter and cool, fun toppings. They chose neat movies you likely won't find showing anywhere else on the Peninsula, and a host introduces each show with a bit of background on the story and the film. If you're making the 45 minute drive to Port Townsend just for the Rose Theater, probably a good idea to call ahead and secure your tickets, and ask which movie is playing UPSTAIRS! We don't recommend Silverwater Restaurant next door, however.

Drinks & Nightlife

We like it because they have a great dance floor, and often have live music in the big dance club and across the casino at a smaller stage. Food's pretty darn good (not gourmet or fancy, but consistently good and reasonably priced.) We don't gamble much, but they do have lots of slots and a fair amount of game tables for those who do. The property is beautifully maintained--worth stopping by to take a walk around their gardens.

It's in the Agnew area, with a nice selection of reasonably-priced drinks and a consistently decent (if not five-star gourmet) selection of food. They have ticketed events such as a whiskey tasting dinner for St. Patricks Day, and other themed dinners that are well thought out, and these dinners show off the kitchen's potential, in our experience. It's a fairly quiet golf-course bar, open to the public, casually but tastefully furnished. Nice quiet place to catch a game or share a cocktail, fairly close to Agnew Tiny.
