This is one of the oldest surviving traditional wooden Malay houses in the country. It was built in stages between 1910 and the early 1930s and was originally located in the northern part of Peninsula Malaysia. It was relocated to Kuala Lumpur in 1996. There are guided tours at 11.00am and 3.00pm, Mondays- Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays & Public Holidays. Minimum Donation is RM10/person.

Parks & Nature

This forest reserve is just 15 minutes away from Cendana. It is located below the KL Tower and is one of the oldest forest in the world. It is also the only rain forest located in the middle of a city. There are free guides available throughout the day. Please check with the visitors' center for more information. When you're there, look out for the suspension bridge with a great view.

Getting Around

Public transportation is very convenient as there are two stations just five minutes away i.e. Dang Wangi LRT station and Bukit Nanas monorail station. You can also take the city's GoKL free shuttle bus from the stop in front of the Renaissance Hotel to explore the city.

You can join the free walking tour around Kampung Baru, which is the last remaining Malay reserve village in the city center. The walk is called the Jalan-Jalan@Kampung Baru and it starts at the nearby Sultan Sulaiman Club. It runs from 4.30 pm to 7.00 pm every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
