Excellent food in a warm and cosy space. Our guests really enjoyed eating here and they have a menu on-line so you can book ahead (it gets busy so please book to avoid disappointment)

Lovely freshly made vegetarian food! Menu changes daily as to what's seasonally available. Great atmosphere and has the benefit or a great interior shop to the side and a wholefood shop behind.

Sightseeing

You will not be disappointed with the local area, so much to see and do within a 30 minute drive....
Beautiful uplifting space to visit, you don't have to be religious to benefit from the atmosphere. Evensong and other choral events are worth attending as well as the High Parts Tours.

Lovely gardens and interesting sights as it's still the home of the Bishop! Good selection of rooms to look around and also has lots of events on during the year.

Wow fabulous views from the top! Very inspiring and alternative - you can't come to Somerset without visiting The Tor or the High Street!

Deepest gorge in the country, spectacular scenery, the caves can occupy you should it be rainy and are very interesting (oldest human remains in the country found here). Great Circular walk but quite demanding.

Beautiful street, oldest inhabited street in Wells. This is where most of the people connected with the Cathedral are housed. Very atmospheric!

Frome is small but has a very vibrant Art Scene! Loads of independent shops - St Catherine's Hill, restaurants and cafes as well as fabulous Vintage Market every first sunday of the month March-December.

Clevedon beach and Pier date back from the victorian period when it was the place to promenade and been seen. Clevedon has a good selection of shops, as well as a sea swimming pool and park.

Lovely little town with huge Tythe Barn, river walks, canal walks and the chance to be a gongoozler! The town has a few boutique shops and the 14th century bridge that spans the river. The bridge also has the old town prison or lockup!

If the weather is wet this is an excellent day out. Loads of planes, interactive 80's War ship tour and even the chance to see Wildcats taking off from the base. It has a restaurant but very basic food.

A good place to visit if you have little ones. Lots of different attractions - the caves are really great and if you are a kid at heart the old fair ground rides/penny slot machines are good fun. There is also a small circus show!

Lovely nature reserve, backdrop of Glastonbury Tor, sun bounces off the reeds and is very light and uplifting - there are many interesting and level walks there with hides to watch the birds .

Great walk through the Gorge, smaller than Cheddar but still very dramatic. Further up the road is Deer Leap, beautiful level walk out across the fields with views of Glastonbury Tor and out towards the Bristol Channel.
