An original 1950's soda fountain place with handmade milkshakes from the owner, who actually was a "soda jerk" from the fifties. The setting is an old cotton mill that has been converted into an antique shop in the front and malt shop in the back. The sundaes and malts are amazing.

If you like authentic spicy Mexican food - this is your place. The place doesn't look special on the outside, and has nice hand painted Mexican decoration on the inside. However, if like spicy - you have to ask for the spicy salsa's. They will bring out a couple of salsas that are amazingly good - and really hot - but you keep putting it on your chips because it tastes so good. The food and margarita's here are great as well, but the salsa is the reason you go here.

This is a old time catfish place across the border in Oklahoma- about 3 miles from Cedar Mills. Nothing fancy here - and the place looks like it hasn’t changed in 20 years-which will appeal to some folks. The food is decent, and it attracts large groups and local families.

Blake Shelton's bar and music venue located about 45 min away right up Hwy 377. This is the place he talks about on "The Voice" and pretty much defines a country bar in Oklahoma. The drive up and back is through open Oklahoma country right over bridge on the west side of Lake Texoma.

A national wildlife reserve that most people have no idea is so close to the metroplex. Lots of hiking trails, and a four mile drive that goes through wetlands full of birds and wildlife.

This place has an amazing garden, lavender plot, and even a small cafe. Quite charming and the gift shop has nearly every type of lavender product you would ever want. Especially nice in the spring.

Captain Marty is a guide who has his boat at Cedar Mills Marina so it’s just a few minutes to drive over and get on the lake. We learned about him from a guest who had an incredible time- and took home a freezer full of fish.

This is a delightful nine hole course. It doesn’t appear very impressive when you drive up and the first hole is a links style Par4 next to a cow pasture, but the course has well laid out holes with lots of elevation change and nice views. The greens are very nice and the course is fun to play for nearly any golfer. You can play nine holes in under two hours- and the price is very low even on the weekend.

While boot mega- stores in Dallas will have hundreds of pairs, we always have found great boots here at good prices. Super nice people as well.
