Food Scene

Literally a minute walk from our villa. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have this small and cosy restaurant so close at hand. It is run by a local family, the dishes they offer are very good, simple and made with genuine ingredients. Prices are incredibly convenient (10 euros for a 2 course meal at lunch time). Perfect if you want to escape the more touristy areas and experience a place especially frequented by locals who go there to eat, drink coffee with friends or simply for a chat.

Drinks & Nightlife

Our daughter Bianca’s favourite bar on the lake side, appreciated both by adults and teen agers, the atmosphere is cosy (the lighting system is accurately studied), the interior decoration is original and sophisticated. We love their cocktails they are all very original and most of them are of their invention.

According to our daughter Bianca, somewhat of an expert of Arona’s nightlife, Boch and Pecora Nera are the two most popular bars among young people. They are one just next to the other and they are owned by the same person, but they attract completely different types of people. While Boch is more “alternative”, and attracts more “edgy people”, Pecora Nera attracts youngsters with a more traditional style of dressing. Obviously it is wrong to generalize and very often their clients meet up in the little space between the two bars for a chat. What better way to find out if you agree with Bianca than to go yourselves?

Sightseeing

Arona, which makes a great place for an evening meal or aperitivo and is the Lake's undisputed nightlife capital, offers a host of wonderful traditional restaurants and bars, patronised mostly by Italians in its picturesque medieval core. Corso Cavour, starting from Piazza del Popolo, offers also a nice place for shopping.
