Unassuming and delicious taco stand right down the block. Because -- Mexican food! Carne asada, pollo, carnitas - tacos, burritos, enchiladas (and of course, menudo) all served up fast and delicious at this little neighborhood spot.

You don't have to be gay to love Hillcrest, but it helps! Lots of good breakfast places, the odd bar or four, a good movie theater (Landmark Hillcrest) and people watching for days. Bread et Cie bakery is a personal favorite for breakfast/brunch or tea. Some of the best bagels in town at BCB Hillcrest. A very crowded Trader Joe's market and a cool ACE Hardware store. Traffic sucks - take a rideshare - adjacent to Balboa Park.
