Fantastic new american restaurant with a cozy, rustic atmosphere. In the summer enjoy cornhole and ping pong on their front lawn. The focus is definitely on the meat here (they buy whole animals and feature some really interesting dishes because of this), but we’ve heard vegetarians have been more than happy with their options as well.

30 minute drive. A popular town with celebrities and escaped New Yorkers, Millerton is home to Oblong Books and Music, a Harney and Sons tea room, and the Moviehouse - an independent theater sure to be playing anything the Triplex in Great Barrington isn’t. It’s also on the Harlem Valley Rail Trail.

40 minute drive, the Brooklyn of upstate NY. This fast changing town has more antique stores than you could possibly explore in a day in addition to lots of art galleries, cute boutiques (Sefira swears by the skincare products made at 2 Note) plus great restaurants to sustain all that shopping! We love getting brunch at Cafe Le Perche (at the very least stop in to pick up some pastry to go) and for dinner we favor the more low key Hudson Food Studio over some of the fancier options available.

20 minute drive. Not a ton in this tiny town center, but close by the barn for a quick jaunt or to ride out a morning rainstorm. Take a tour of the Berkshire Mountain Distillers, or if beer is more your thing visit the Big Elm Brewing tap room for some sampling. If you’re looking for a casual meal, stop into the Marketplace Cafe or Bash Bish Brew and Que.

If you’re around Lenox to visit the Mount or Tanglewood (or maybe for a spa treatment at Canyon Ranch or Cranwell - lucky you!) we recommend stopping into the little town for a quick peek around. We’ve had great dinners at Alta and Nudel or if you’re around during the day, stop into the Haven Cafe for great pastries, brunch or just a good coffee.
