Highly recommended hiking trials. Much closer and less touristy then Algonquin Provincial park and it's free. We have a trail map book on the book shelve. The gates are unlocked daily from 9:00am until 5:00pm. Please drive up to the stop sign and the gate will open in front of you. If the gates are locked and you would like to come in to hike, please park outside the property and walk in, stop at the Check-In Booth to sign your waiver, and continue by foot to where you’d like to hike. Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve is a peaceful, year-round wilderness haven with twenty private lakes and more than 10,000 unspoiled acres of mixed forest. Limberlost is famous for its varied hiking trails. Their development began more than 80 years ago. In total, Limberlost offers more than 70 km of woodland trails and extensive woodland roads, rated as to the grade and quality to cater to evening strollers as well as those seeking more strenuous exercise. We also have jogging trails. From Toronto: Hwy. 400 north to Hwy. 11 north, and turn east onto Hwy. 60, by-passing Huntsville and continuing past Grandview, Deerhurst and Hidden Valley. 10 km past Huntsville, turn left/northeast on Limberlost Road (Muskoka Road 8), and after driving 9 km, turn right/southeast on South Limberlost Road. After 3 km the Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve gates will welcome you at the end of the road. Note: The turn off on to South Limberlost Road is easy to miss.
