Drinks & Nightlife

The nearest 'local' to the cottage, this pub serves great Guinness, local ales and has an eclectic collection whiskies. You can walk across the hills and drop down into Llangynhafal for a pint in 'The Goldie' before making your way back along the road to the bottom of Bron y Felin lane. Then its a nice climb back to the cottage to burn off those calories!

Sightseeing

Charming and very pretty market town with a lovely central square at 'top of town'. Some interesting architecture and it even has its own Castle (now a hotel with restaurant).

Ancient Castle, Medieval walled town, beautiful River Conwy estuary and marina. And when you've has enough of that it's a short hop to the beautiful gardens at Bodnant and the nearby Welsh National Food Centre to stock up on provisions.

Parks & Nature

Because it's amazing. You can walk to the ridge that runs along the top of the Clwydian range from the cottage. It's part of the Offa's Dyke path. Take a left after leaving the little gate in the corner of the garden and follow the track along until you come to a signed path heading up hill to your right (just before a small stream). When you get to the very top you can chose to go right up to Moel Famau (the highest point but also the busiest especially on weekends) or go left and walk towards the sea. Either way, the views across the Vale of Clwyd to Snowdonia and the Berwyn Mountains are superb.

Try the Cym Bychan and Aberglaslyn Gorge trails. The noise from the river is stupendous as it tumbles over the rapids beside the Fisherman's path! And then there's always the chance to enjoy the legend of Gellert, the brave and loyal hound so unjustly punished, as you pass his grave.
