Take a short ferry over to some of the 365 "Calendar" Islands in Casco Bay. I recommend the Mail Boat ride to see all islands, but if you want to get off, go to Peaks!

Lovely opportunity to ride your bikes around the island: easy, 1 hour ride with plenty of picnic stops along the way. From the ferry stop, walk up to the main st and turn left to the bike rental shop.
