It is small but the coffee, smoothies and the organic food are delectable. It has a little grocery section and serves as a restaurant and cafe. It is close to Lamar Park .

It is a little bit off the center and therefore usually more quiet. The owner is Portugese and the food is divine. There is lots of room and still it is charming.

They offer breakfast and lunch with a soup of the day and special sandwich. Try their cinnamon rolls! They are delicious and huge so take someone to share it with. Be prepared crowds...it is just that good

Arts & Culture

William Faulkner won the Nobel Prize for Literature. He lived and worked in Rowan Oaks and on the grounds. Need I say anything more. Park at the University Museum and take the 0.5 mile trail to Rowan Oak; it is worthwhile and parking is much easier there.

Parks & Nature

Whirlpool Trails are good for taking a walk and running. There is a main trail that goes more or less straight to the end and there are smaller trails that branch off to the sides. If you come from 6 and merge onto Old Taylor the trail begins on the right side after the pedestrian crossing.

The lake is nice and the trails length are marked--good for a running workout. There is sculpture art in the park and some pretty houses to look at and on the park's edge is Living Foods--a cute organic food store and cafe which serves smoothies, homemade popsickles in enticing flavors.
