Food Scene

We love the White House for its atmosphere, food and the amazing guys who own and run it. You MUST try their delicious bruschetta, our favourite is the home-made pesto and halloumi one, though they regularly change the menu to suit the season.

Roy's peak is ideal to enjoy as a day trip. The ascent takes around 2-4hrs and the view from the top is absolutely breathtaking. Recommended for fine weather days unless you are experienced in the mountains as the weather here can change rapidly. Prepare yourself by taking water, food and some warmer layers. Don't forget your camera!

This beautiful little lake is nestled in the hills on the way out to Mt. Aspiring National Park. The lake is a short uphill walk from the carpark, around 15-20 minutes. The hiking track that continues beyond Diamond Lake eventually ends you at the top of Rocky Mountain where you can enjoy a different perspective of Wanaka and Glendhu Bay. Around 2hrs to the top.

Essentials

We recommend to do your shopping in the morning, midday or early afternoon during peak season as New World gets quite busy towards the end of the day when everyone has finished their day of activities.
