Roy's peak is ideal to enjoy as a day trip. The ascent takes around 2-4hrs and the view from the top is absolutely breathtaking. Recommended for fine weather days unless you are experienced in the mountains as the weather here can change rapidly. Prepare yourself by taking water, food and some warmer layers. Don't forget your camera!

The hiking track that continues beyond Diamond Lake eventually ends you at the top of Rocky Mountain where you can enjoy a different perspective of Wanaka and Glendhu Bay. Around 2hrs to the top.
