Our funky artisanal suite is in a 120 year old character home situated along the Gorge waterway in one of the oldest and prettiest areas of Victoria. It is close to downtown and just a short walk to all other amenities. The suite has all the comforts of home, and has been lovingly designed as a cosy and intriguing space filled with carpets, pottery, linens, original art works, furnishings and even toys! collected on our world travels.
“Anita and Jamie were so friendly and inviting; and we instantly felt that we were welcome guests in their home. The property is on a pretty, tree-lined residential street; and we were happy it was so close to the Galloping Goose trail, as well as a 15-minute walk to a couple of really good, just re-opened (and social distance-abiding) eateries -- Spoons on Douglas, for a retro/kitchy/fully-delish breakfast, and Glo on the Gorge waterway, for sunset-lit dining, are two. The back yard, in particular, looks and feels just like an English country cottage postcard, i.e., picture perfect. We regret that we couldn’t -- but we hope to, again, soon -- spend a lot more time resting and relaxing out back, amongst the lush greenery, plants, flowers, and chickens. (And a duck!) The suite was clean, bright (with curtains drawn open), private, and comfortable. I usually bring a light supply of cooking gear and gadgets (just in case), but the cupboards were fully stocked with absolutely everything we needed for all meals, big and small. Jamie and Anita encouraged us to feel free to "just knock" for anything we might need, but nothing at all was lacking during our stay. (Regarding the low beams: if you're tall, use your eyes to protect your head! Luckily, it was my husband’s helmet that made first contact; but with his helmet off before entering, he felt only the whoosh of air, above.)”
This studio cottage is an independent building on 3/4 of an acre in beautiful Cordova Bay. The yard consists of tall, graceful trees, and Elk Lake can just be glimpsed through the trees. The location is just outside of Victoria proper, about 20 minutes' drive from the heart of downtown and 15 minutes from YYJ airport. This location is great for guests who prefer a little privacy, and want to stay close to but not in downtown Victoria. LGBTQ community welcome.
“The cottage was a great stay. Sarah has taken great thought in making the place with lots of thoughtful touches. The space is clean and quiet and being up in the trees was very lovely. Sarah is a great communicator and her place is clean with lots of hand sanitizer just in case to make you feel safe and comfortable . Definitely stay here!”

“This was our 4th stay with Mike and Nancy! Nothing much to add to previous reviews (great location, sparkling clean and excellent communication). During this COVID time, it's extremely reassuring and thoughtful for Mike and Nancy to put extra emphasis on getting a super clean guesthouse (you can tell everything has been thoroughly scrubbed), so thank you for this!”
