The lookout is open year round with a wood fired stove to keep warm at night or heat your morning coffee. A wood fired sauna sits below to relax and rejuvenate your body after a big hike or snowshoeing adventure. What's that other little wooden building? No fire lookout is complete without an outhouse!
“The lookout is pure magic. There are far too many wonderful qualities to even list, but it’s the way the space made me feel that I’ll never forget. I came to the lookout alone for a week, to really self nourish and allow everything going on in our world to sink in. I believe it’s crucial for each of us to find that magical space within (as healing process of this world begins with YOU). Kristie’s lookout was the perfect place for a deep cleanse and refresh. There’s something so special about a slow morning - starting a fire to heat your space and water for coffee that you grind by hand. Taking it to the deck and watching the birds play. Smelling the thick mountain air. Being reminded what it is to simply just be. The sauna was a dream. The bucket shower was so easy and surprisingly refreshing. The axe throwing pit had me feeling like my child self, which was a blast. Hunting for morels on Kristie’s land was also a beautiful little challenge for me(I found seven!), and I’d highly recommend it while they’re in season. I do think it would be even more magical spent with a lover, but I’m still so happy to have gotten that time to reflect on my own and soak in every minute of that beautiful land. ♥️”

“We absolutely loved Teresa’s place. So much to explore around the Haugan area. We brought our bikes and took a nice 7 mile bike ride right from her place. We explored the logging roads near by which had beautiful scenery! The apartment was perfect for us and our dog. Teresa was very responsive and let us check in early and check out late. She even provided plenty of tips on things to do. Overall, a very wonderful experience! We will definitely stay again!”
My place is resting on a tree filled mountainside with lush green beautiful views. A place where abundant wildlife rule the forest. See Elk, Deer, Bear, Moose and Eagles in their natural environment. Hunting, fly fishing, hiking, biking, motocross, boating and floating are just a few things you can do while you visit. Great for couples, solo adventurers, hunters, fishermen, business travelers and families. Looking to relax and get away from the norm, this is home is a great choice for you.
“The home and location are beautiful! Everything you might need for a comfortable stay was provided, and it was very clean. The area is an excellent place to enjoy all kinds of water and hiking activities. It was fun to explore all the dirt roads around the property, too, and find out where they led! Thank you so much, Ron, for being a great host!”
