This room is dog-friendly! We allow one dog per night, you must ask if we have space before booking with a dog. $20/dog/night. Dogs must be leashed, may not be left unattended at hostel.

This private room w/locking door features a single twin bed only for one person. Doubling up is not allowed in this room. It’s located directly adjacent to the TV lounge common area and convenient to a bathroom. Features a shared lounge, and kitchen used by other Air BNB guests. The host has a cat that lives in the hostel. All other amenities in the common area are shared. Hiker, skier, college and graduate students, international, and conversationalist love this place.

Our building, originally an elementary school, has been turned into a community space we are keeping alive with endeavours such as this hostel. The Acorn is part of the 60 acre, 137 year old Oakland House property that has been operated as a summer vacation destination since it was opened to guests on July 4th, 1889. Once an ice house and even a casino, the Acorn is a quaintly rustic piece of history we hope you enjoy!
