“My friend and I had a wonderful time staying with Aneesh and his family. It was a homestay and although we stayed in a separate room, we got to know the family over the course of a few days. All of them were very open and made us feel completely at home - we really hope we will to keep in touch in the future. Aneesh went out of his way to accommodate us - on his day off he took us on a day trip to Munnar which boasts incredible tea plantations, lakes and dams open to public. On the last day, we got to visit the school where Aneesh teaches and he took us to another breath-taking viewpoint nearby with hidden rock faces to climb which we would not have found without him. Our favourite part about the trip was getting to know the family and the local people - everyone was very friendly and open. There is a fantastic community-feel to the remote location and even as tourists we felt more than welcomed into their environment. There was a private bathroom attached to the room and we were able to use their kitchen to make coffees. There was a hot water tap with consistent hot water running. Delicious home cooked meals are available there on request. The house itself is located in a remote village in the mountains - it's about 10min drive to the nearest town where you can get local transport connections to nearby viewpoints/attractions. There are also shops and restaurants in the town serving delicious native foods, chai and coffee. If you are wanting to drink alcohol, it can be hard to find without the help of a local, therefore we recommend bringing from your previous location or duty free. (We have also found this difficult in other parts of Kerala, it is almost a completely dry State). Within a walking distance (40min walk) from the house there is a wild waterfall where you can swim. The pathway down is fairly steep and off the beaten track, meaning a peaceful paradise awaits you at the waterfall's base. We had an incredible time there, would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to have a peaceful break and experience the local culture in Kerala.”
Our home situated in the South Kashmir - Munnar in Kerala, where you can feel the real taste of tea plantations which has covered as a blanket in the munnar, and also you can feel the panoramic view of the high altitude of nature view. Unlike the typical Munnar resort or hotel, you will enjoy nature at It's (EMAIL HIDDEN)e and experience the village life with us.
“The food and the setting are very nice. They have an amazing garden where you can sit and relax. There’s so much to do in Munnar it’s tempting to be on the go non-stop but I recommend a day sitting and reading in the garden and walking to the nearby shops or sitting by the river. It’s a nice calm place to recharge. The food was delicious! We even had the chance to cook with Joshy’s wife and the whole family, was wonderful to be invited into his home. We found it nice to be in the countryside further out from Munnar but it means you have to take a jeep or a tuk tuk to get anywhere (except for just wondering to the closest little village). It Joshy helps you organise al of that (or drives you himself in his jeep!) The rooms have fans and warm showers. if you’re a light sleeper then bring earplugs as you can hear between the rooms and there are dogs nearby. Joshy is a very attentive host, helped us organise everything! We did one day hiking in the tea plantations, one day relaxing at the Airbnb and one day we drove to Chinnar wildlife sanctuary with Joshy’s brother who is also very nice. If you do go for a hike they start very early and it’s very cold in the morning! So take a warm jacket!”

“The experience was way beyond what we expected. The cook/manager was very accommodating, open to feedback, and quick to help us. We moved to a different cottage for a better view without any hassles and that cottage was AMAZING. There is inertia when you experience something like this and there were no other guests, but tbh, I want to go back. Life was simple, no network helped in some ways. Food was exceptional, would recommend informing the cook to make less quantity as we felt bad not eating all (we did ask for less). Each day food was so light and delicious. Housekeepers were very polite and helpful. The room was very clean and utilities at our disposal were throughful. As simple as giving water with added herbs was very nice. Bathing area is a beautiful highlight, where you practically bathe under the sky. The only issue we faced was when wifi was also down and we had no way to reach anyone. We felt maybe adding a landline for emergencies can help, even if it chargeable to the customer. Overall, this is a place I would come back to in a year when all the construction is over and would recommend to others as well. It's a beautiful concept. Thank you for having us. Cheers!!”
