This hostel is a renovated wooden building that is over 110 years old. This guest house opened in July 2021. Osu Shopping Street is within a 7-minute walk, and there is a bar on the ground floor, which is popular with local customers. The shared counter kitchen is stocked with a variety of cooking utensils and condiments, so you can enjoy cooking right away. Nearby supermarkets, convenience stores, and pharmacies are within 350 meters. The shared living room is available 24 hours a day, so you can enjoy chatting with guests you've become friends with until midnight, or work at the counter desk. There is no curfew and the shower is available 24 hours. Check-in time is from 4 pm to 11 pm, but Early check-in may be available, so please consult with us. Our guest house Sumiya is in the centre of Kawayu village near Kumano Hongu Taisha shrine. River Oto in front is a unique river with its hot spring sources and you can enjoy an open air bath (small one in the summer and a big one in the winter). You can also dig your own mini bath in the summer for a little bathing under the milky way. Near to Kumano Kodo trail, Kawayu is one of the best destinations for those who want to know more about the area's history and culture and enjoy its nature.
