Beachfront holiday rentals in Shoal Bay

The house was very nice and in a great location for anyone with dog's. Only 5 minutes walk to the dog friendly beach and half an hour's walk into town. As we haven't been to the area before, Clare's recommendations of things to do were excellent for the whole family.

Great place to stay, and close to cafes, restaurants and the water. It’s the little things that make a stay and Warwick provided extra blankets, large bath towels, blanket on lounge etc. he also provided good recommendations on local places to eat and visit. Very good communication and check in on us until we had arrived safely. Would stay again!! Thanks!!!

This apartment is impeccable, a dream. The view of the harbour is superb & if we hadn’t been there to run the Newcastle marathon we might never have left the apartment! When we did leave we were right in the hub with easy transportation & great restaurants in walking distance. Every aspect of the apartment is well thought out, beautiful & luxurious. Thank you, we already can’t wait to return!

Loved my stay here! Elizabeth let me leave my stuff in the accommodation in the morning (hours before check in), left lovely snacks and everything you need for breakfast in the unit, and was very kind and helpful. Elizabeth also offered me a lift to the train station cause the rain was so heavy and brought my washing to me when it was finished in the dryer (through the pouring rain). The accommodation is so cosy and actually feels a lot bigger than the photos indicate. The location is amazing, you’re barely 200 m to the beach, the best coffee spots in town (my opinion as a previous local) and some of the best pubs/ restaurants. I’ve stayed in loads of Airbnb’s and Elizabeth has got to be the kindest nicest host I’ve ever had.

10 stars! The longer you stay in Keran’s studio (and Newcastle) the longer you will want to stay. As frequent airbnb’ers we SO appreciate the considerate built-in storage spaces, HOOKS (!), all the kitchen supplies needed to cook meals, etc.! Keran spoiled us: cheeses, fruit, butter, gluten free crackers (she asked about dietary requirements!), OJ and more. Any anxiety about lack of outdoor space was quelled by a cute cozy basement style patio and the fact that Newcastle Beach and its shaded chill spaces is only a few minutes’ walk away. I have to mention the bathroom which had the most sophisticated lighting I have seen. Plus a great shower, just bring your shampoo. Public transport is nearby but we were happy to have a car to explore and traffic was a non-issue. Smaller car is best. Restaurants in walking distance as well as ocean pools (a must!). Best grocery stores by car. We met Keran who was great about checking in w/us and suggestions. She lives above in this historic complex.

We had a great stay at Travis’ place. A very cool and well designed townhouse located in a great position to explore the local area. It was spacious and comfortable for our family of 4. Definitely recommend.

Sonja’s place was absolutely perfect. Above and beyond the photos. It was definitely 5 star luxury all the way. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a group getaway. Located five minutes from Nelson bay and a short walk to pristine bays and a dog beach across the road.

Great place for young family. The kids loved the heated pool and trampolines. Comfy and clean, the unit was well equipped and amazingly located, across road from beach. Would stay again

Narelle’s place is situated perfectly 2 mins walk from beautiful Little Beach and other attractions/activities in this area of Port Stephens. The apartment was beautiful and spotless with a fully stocked kitchen with everything you may possibly need as well as games and rackets for the tennis court. Parking was available on site. Additionally Narelle was quick to respond to any queries I had. I would definitely recommend Narelle’s place. I wish I could’ve stayed longer.

Great location. Being on the 3rd floor gave great views but with no lift made access a bit harder. Accommodation is pretty good, very good for the price. It is a bit tired and could do with a freshen up. Had a great week there - very suitable for a young family.

We loved our stay at this property. Everything was well maintained and it was a restful environment. We enjoyed our time very much. Super handy to have the little grocery and take away shop downstairs. The bus stop was a bit noisy at night but not terrible. We were a bit confused about access initially, needed to ring and clarify. The flat itself had all the things you need and was very comfortable.

Had the opportunity to at Paul's place. Good space for family of 5. Everything you need was there. Access to 2 car parks underground was good. Look forward to staying there again.

Simon’s place is simply amazing. Not only is a great house, in an amazing spot but It was equipped with everything anyone could ever possibly need. Simon was always available and responsive to any queries, and went the extra mile to find out more about our plans and interests so he could recommend activities or offer additions l help. I have stayed in plenty of Airbnb’s and I must say I think this tops them all, and no doubt I will be back.

We had a fantastic stay in this apartment! The views of Fingal Bay were absolutely spectacular, and the short walk to the beach made it even better. We loved having the little grocery store and cafés just downstairs—so convenient. The underground parking and elevator access straight to the second-floor apartment were a huge plus. The large covered balcony was perfect for relaxing, and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed. We also appreciated how peaceful the area was while still being close to amenities. The only minor issue was sometimes the buses will idle at the bus stop near the apartment and if you have your doors open it can be a bit loud. But it’s only a couple of times per day we noticed it. Definitely recommend the apartment.

The views were absolutely spectacular!! We loved the house, the location, the kangaroos, being away from people and Julianne was very easy to communicate with. Note: The dam water used for washing/baths/showers was very brown. It didn't bother us much but its something to consider if you're thinking about booking. Otherwise we cannot recommend this place high enough!

This property is AMAZING! And the hosts are great communicators too. The house is absolute waterfront so we made the most of beach strolls & fishing! Huge rooms, very well equipped & clean with brilliant water views from the inside too. Very happy & sure to be back ❤️

We had a fantastic stay at Marcus and Helen's property. The decor is absolutely lovely—thoughtfully chosen and welcoming, creating a real home-away-from-home vibe. The kitchen was impressively well-stocked with everything we needed, including quality crockery and utensils. The furniture throughout the house was very comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a day out. On top of all that, the location was ideal—peaceful yet close to everything we wanted to see and do. Highly recommended!

Beautiful house in a quiet location right on the water. The dog loved running around the large fenced yard and the kids loved taking the kayaks out. There was a large kitchen to cook in and a huge balcony to sit out on and enjoy the views. There was plenty of space for us. David the host was friendly and helpful. We didn’t even go out as the house and waterfront was enough for us. We will visit again.

The house was very clean and comfortable, and the nearby cove was fun to paddle in on the stand up paddle boards provided, with a short walk to the shore. North Arm Cove is a peaceful suburb and there are some fire trails through the bush behind the house, but no coastal walks. The kitchen was very well stocked and made cooking very easy. We had fun using the billiard table and car racing simulator. It is a 20 minute drive to Coles, surf beaches, and excellent restaurants in Tea Gardens.
