Herrestad is a green oasis in the middle of an agricultural area and close to Sweden's largest freshwater lake. Wildlife is rich, both in terms of birdlife and deer. You can often see both deer and elk in the garden. Now life in the wild has also been expanded to include wild boar. In spring, the beautiful apple trees bloom and the houses are surrounded by several different types of beautiful deciduous trees.

FredrikLars farm by Nordmarksbergs Herrgård

FredrikLars-gården adjacent to Nordmarksbergs Herrgård: 19th century or older. In this farm, the great inventor John Ericsson's grandfather Nils (b. 1747 – 1790) has lived. On a rock in the grounds of the farm, there should be a curtain with the name of Nils. Picture of this stone can be found in Värmlandsarkiv's photo archive on a picture from 1955 (photo Lennart Thelander, pictures SEVA_11229_36 and SEVA_11230-1), but has not been found in the present day. It's probably hidden by mortar that's been covered over the rocks.

The lake is large and there is a row boat for guest usage. The cabin has one full bedroom and one spacious sleeping loft with two beds and additional storage space. It also has one bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. The living room has a fireplace and access to a porch with a fantastic view.

The accommodation is located in scenic Fryksdalen, 50 meters from Lake Fryken, close to Mårbacka, Alma Löv Museum, Västanå Music and Theater.
