“Tony’s place was a perfect, quaint, cozy, quiet place. The best part was that Tony made time in the evening to bring out the horses and introduce them to the kids. It was definitely the highlight of their trip to be able to meet the horses. There is also a nice creek to play in and open grassy area to run. We were just in for the afternoon and left early AM, but it was a perfect stopover. Large yard for the dog to run as well as the kids. Would stay again if we were passing through.”
Come spend the night under the sky in our one of a kind hut. Nestled in an enchanted Appalachian holler, you will enjoy views of the night sky from the comfort of your queen bed. The heater and heated blanket are sure to keep you cozy on cold nights. In the morning, enjoy our complimentary organic farm eggs, oatmeal, french press coffee and tea. Hang out with the sheep, goats and chickens grazing on the edge of the forest. Take a stroll on our trail or enjoy a nap in the hammocks.
“I came here alone as sort of a retreat and a chance to reconnect with nature. The stargazing hut fit the ticket! It was an opportunity to camp without having to do all of the set-up and take-down and with some nice amenities- like power, pots and pans/ plates/ french press...and nice decorative touches (candles, essential oil, etc.). I stayed during the COVID 19 pandemic and appreciated the fact that the place was clean and sanitized. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed having Murphy, the hosts' cat, stay with me my first night there. The animals make some noise but I actually enjoyed that- fell asleep and woke up on my own and my stay there was quite restful. Additionally, Mitch was available and responsive when I needed assistance with things. (I was frustrated at first that my Verizon service did not work except for intermittent texting, but that ended up being a blessing because I had wanted more of a retreat from day-to-day stress. I do recommend the stargazing hut and would stay there again.”
This is a unique custom home next to Douglas Lake that melts away the stress of life. The lake and mountain views are breath taking to enjoy on the spacious deck or from the interior. The home brings the outdoors inside with a 23 foot oak tree and several other trees for decor. Imagine sitting by a gas fireplace, a good book in hand and soft music in the background, with the joy of your mind being free for your imagination. Deer, turkey and birds are plentiful to remind you of nature.
“Suzanne’s place is where you go to relax and take a break from life’s everyday business. We spent every day of our stay relaxing on the dock and swimming in the water. You can walk straight from her back porch into the lake! She also has all sorts of water fun (canoe, kayak, SUP board, and floats). She had many special touches that you can only get in an Airbnb stay (I won’t spoil what they were). Take her advice and back out of her driveway. It is an adventure, but very do-able. Our favorite place for going out to dinner was Millstone (about 10-15 minutes). They had good bbq and some great fried okra.”
