Nemo's Corner

We are a Portuguese family that knows all the islands of the Azores, and completed in August 2018 this retreat, to get away from our busy lives in London. Until the day comes that we can enjoy it full time, we have decided to share the amazing space we have created with others that love the nature, mountain and sea that is always surrounding us. The house is within Prainha, the most beautiful parish of Pico Island, and within close proximity to the beach, restaurants, grocery store and bakery.

Enjoy a beautiful wooden house in a unique and special place with a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. Benefit from the walking tours overlooking the wonderful Pico mountain. Our accommodations are located a 2-minute drive and a 20-minute walk from Vila da Madalena, and include a bedroom with a double bed and a living room with a sofa bed.

Charming Beach House along the Ocean

Located minutes from downtown Madalena, “Casa da Barca” is a charming space granting guests picturesque views of the ocean and island of Faial from one side, and iconic Pico Mountain on the other. Walk only a few steps out the door and take a dip into natural pools or enjoy a refreshment at Pico’s award winning Cella Bar. Your host will welcome you with some cheese and wine, giving you a taste of the Acores and getting your palate ready for delicious island food.

Grandfather Francisco's House

Once a traditional wine cellar, built by Francisco Paulo in 1980, this villa served for many years as a production site and warehouse for the Paulo family's wine. The wine cellar has been remodeled and expanded, but it maintains the traditional elevations and the decoration and details of the times when it was used as a wine cellar. Next to the bathing area, it has a view that invites long nights of conversation.

Mysteries Lodge

Misterios Lodge is a quiet, private retreat designed exclusively for adults seeking calm and privacy. Set among trees with Atlantic views on Pico Island, it is a single-level, high-quality lodge built from sustainably sourced wood and designed for thermal and acoustic comfort. The lodge is intended for guests who value quiet surroundings and a low-noise environment and is not suitable for parties or events.

There is no better way to observe the sea than with a coffee in hand, you will find coffee capsules and tea bags at your disposal. Relax in this quiet and stylish space.
