A nice 20 minute scenic walk to get there from the airbnb. Alternatively a 4 minute drive. Beautiful park with plenty of open spaces. Picnic tables down by the river are a great option if you wish to bring some lunch with you.

The children will love the park and for those who love bush walks you are spoilt for choice here. Take a stroll along the river walks (two directions) or head up one of the steeper tracks to enjoy a view of the entire city. Approximately 40 minute walk to the top, but magical views!

Lots of nature walks, a park / playground and a nice inner city place for a picnic under the trees.

If you want a picnic place in the park under the trees this is for you. For the more adventurous, a track will lead you to the river below then over a bridge and a steep ascent up Mount Parihaka to the war memorial and lookout over the city at the top.
