Tips from locals
This is a restaurant with a view that takes your breath away. They have good food and a kids play area with wine so they cater for all. They also do team-building events. It's just a stones throw away from our Airbnb.
A great winery to have a few casual drinks in their wine tasting/bar area. Has great views of the Durbanville Wine Valley. Beer tasting and wine tasting on offer. I just really like their wines at the moment!
Perfect for wine and even craft beer tastings. They also have some eats and treats and even wine or beer and food pairings
A picturesque farm, great indoor and outdoor eating and a new generation of wine making.

“Wine tasting in unique, individually decorated little cellar / cave rooms ... a must visit. As a boutique winery, it is not easy to find their wines anywhere else. Take the trip over the rolling hills of the Durbanville Wine Valley and make your excursion explore their unique wine tasting room or indulge in the delightfully delectable dishes at Jéan Restaurant - food from the heart. Food that’s not pretentious with “schmears” & “foam”, but beautiful bring-down-the-house food. They’ll surprise you with their own take on ordinary food that comforts you with familiar, nostalgic, heritage flavours. BUT moving the boundaries and breaking free by cooking outside the wired fences. Reservations:- Wine Tasting Room +27 (0)60 877 2678 Jéan Restaurant +27 (0)79 693 9646”

“From festivals, live open air concerts, beautiful wine pairings and olive and cheese platters. Hillcrest is a must stop for little bits of everything. Their freshly baked breads, not for the gluten-free at heard! :) ”

“This is a lovely park with indigenous trees, dams and trails through the vineyards in the area, the perfect place for an after-work hike or ride. It is just a minute or two away from the Tyger Valley Shopping Centre, and has a nice combination of tough climbs to make those leg muscles burn, and single track… with everything in between;- fast smooth paths, rocky sections, bridges, drop-offs and some of the twisty-turny forest trails can be very exciting! The ride along the dam is entrancing, leading to a lovely piece of trail through the lower forest alongside the stream.”
