Why locals recommend it
You feel like you’re at the very edge of the city in this plaza with an incredible view of the sea, Montjuïc, and the cargo port in the distance. It’s located behind the luxurious W Hotel Barcelona, designed by Ricardo Bofill and opened in 2009. It’s better known as the Hotel Vela among locals. There you can find a very interesting sculpture—also by Ricardo Bofill—composed of four marble columns representing the red stripes of the Catalan flag. With the sea in the background, it creates a very beautiful image.
