Tips from locals
Galbraith's Alehouse has been around since the early 90s and is the pioneer of NZ craft brewing. Lots of on-premises variety on tap, with several rotating guest beers rounding off the selection. Oh, and the food is good too.
Classic ale house — long–standing Auckland landmark microbrewery. Traditional drinking and pub food.
The first of the new wave of craft breweries in NZ; opened in the early 90s, and still going strong. Traditional town pub atmosphere, nice food, wonderful range of beers, all housed in an old library. Its a bit middle-age / middle-class, but still the best place in Auckland to drink a world of beer…
Old school pub. Great comfort food like bangers and mash!! Fish and chips etc.
