About this place
In February of 2004, partners Danny and Ayala Hodak and Gadi and Sheila Ruham open the doors of Taboon Restaurant on a quiet corner in Hell's Kitchen where the star of the show is the blazing white domed oven that has been serving up its original wood fired "Middleterranean" cuisine ever since. Inspired by the vibrant spices and flavors of the Middle East and the Mediterranean, with fresh hand made food from an ancient oven, bold and articulated flavors, and a driving passion for food and love for hospitality, Taboon quickly earned a loyal following and a well respected place in New York's culinary landscape.

Tips from locals
Best Mediterranean food on the west side. Pricey but worth it. Great place to take a date.
One of the city’s hipper Middle Eastern restaurants, this lusty space is a welcome oasis on the western fringes of midtown. Flickering candles, a tiled open kitchen and a working stone oven offer a nice backdrop to the piquant, Pan–Middle Eastern cuisine.
Great food. One of my favorite restaurants in the hood. Must get he $5 house focaccia, but everything is good. Steak and fish and salads, and desert and so on... You should make a reservation a day or two in advance. $$$
For the Mediterranean food lovers. Fresh bread and bans and a great atmosphere! 773 10th Av (& 52nd St.)
