Why locals recommend it
Kids of all ages, and grown-ups too, will be happy to eat anything on this menu—huge portions of fried chicken, mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts with brown sugar and bacon, and biscuit sandwiches in every imaginable form. Seriously, there’s no need to order separately for little ones. Make an Upper West Side day of it. One of the city’s most beloved toy stores, West Side Kids, is across the street, and the Children’s Museum of Manhattan is around the corner on 83rd Street. My kids practically lived there when they were younger.
Tips from locals
mmm.... Beer. Biscuits. Pickles. That’s comfort food to me. I love the warmth and charm of this restaurant. Think buttermilk fried chicken, served on top of a biscuit drizzled with clover honey, then topped with our Hot Sour pickles. It’s great southern food that makes you smile.
Eat in or order out. This place also is extremely popular and therefore expect a 20-30 minute wait to be seated or order in and just walk up and pick it up. It will be ready in about 15 mins.
