The river has many public access points off of route 97 and also on the Pennsylvania side. In the summer months lots of places offer kayaking, boating and tubing with pick up from different spots along the river.

Tusten Moutain Trail is the closest trail to the Cutest Little House. Moderate hike up a mountain to a beautiful overlook at the Delaware River, 1 hour round trip.

The Upper Delaware Park is a stunningly beautiful area filled with bald eagles and herons. Fantastic for rafting, kayaking and hiking.

Hike, boat, and fish along one of the most pristine rivers in the northeastern United States. The Upper Delaware River, in New York and Pennsylvania, is the only undammed river in this part of America. It's also prime fishing territory. The waterway gives kayakers of varying experience a chance to float down a historic river. Rolling hills dot the landscape through five counties and 73 miles of lush forests, quaint riverside villages and wildlife habitats. Some of the towns along the river have changed little since the 1940s, so a vacation here can take you back to another era. Migratory fish species are plentiful. Pick out a spot along the banks of the river, or float down the Upper Delaware to get close to the water. Large rocks in the middle of some sections create rapids, while other parts of the river form eddies where fish congregate and feast on plants and bugs. There's plenty to do if you're not into fishing or boating. There are festivals in the summer and fall. The small towns around the river have a lot to celebrate. Surrounding mountains and hills, such as the Poconos, offer scenic drives and hiking trails. Fall foliage treks provide fantastic photo ops as you walk among nature's vibrant palette of reds, oranges, and yellows. Warmer months, from June to October, allow for some great camping trips. Pick your ideal spot in the hills or near the river. There's enough scenery and wide open spaces in the Upper Delaware region for everyone.

The least developed section of the last major river on the east coast the Upper Delaware has extraordinary ecological integrity and excellent water quality and provides outstanding habitat for aquatic, riparian, and adjacent terrestrial life. Several companies rent equipment and provide transportation for whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing, and tubing. There are also hiking trails.
