You cannot spend a holiday around Livorno without tasting some "torta", the name used for this very good chickpeas tart and Gagarin is the best place in Livorno, right in front of the beautiful covered food market. Ideal for lunch.

Every Italian town has its own street food. Livorno has "5 & 5" bread filled with a very special and tasteful "torta" as we call it in Livorno: chickpeas , water, salt cooked in a wood oven. Gagarin makes the best "torta in Town"

Gagarin is famous worldwide to make the best "5&5" (Cinque e cinque). What is it? It's the typical local sandwich: chickpea flour cooked in oven, savory pie inside a hot and salt-free bread. The addition of black pepper and aubergines is recommended!
