Visited Roosevelt Island and took the the air tram, and the views are spectacular! The Roosevelt area is clean and there's a lawn by the East Riverside where you could sit and enjoy the Manhattan skyline and the sound of the rushing water.
Take a 3 min fun trip on the tramway (Remember when Spiderman saved a bunch of kids on the tram from the Green Goblin?) from Midtown Manhattan (59th St and the 2nd Ave) to Roosevelt Island with your MTA card. You will love it!!! But don't do it during the rush hour, or there will be many commuters…
