The most beautiful examples of Chiapas ambar are to be found here, in sculptures as well as jewelry. Watch the video all about ambar and how it is mined in the mountains north of San Cristobal.

The only Museum of its kind in continental America (the other one is in Dominican Republic ;). It is located in a 16th century building with great views.

El Museo del Ámbar de Chiapas se inaugura el 4 de diciembre del año 2000. Es el único en su tipo en México y cuenta con más de 300 piezas en exhibición.

Museo del ambar. Aunque no seas fan del ambar, el edificio historico vale la pena. Y saldras sabiendo distinguir las numerosas imitaciones del ambar del verdadero!
