Quaint mountain town with silver mining history and a beautiful day driving trip.

Oh Colonial Mexico. We love this peaceful town. The drive is 1.5 hrs into mountains and cool air. Coffee is the crop. Stop at the hacienda on the way into town on the tight and buy some expresso after tasting samples. Hike around town. Stop at El Fortin for cafe de olla at the plaza. Go down side streets and walk along the river. Museum, church. Coco’s for fresh pasta in the garden or head back out of town to the glorious restaurant on the right before you leave. It’s a Safe drive. Dont do it in rain as landslides are risky.
