Serves Spanish and criollo food, and Spanish wines at 2CUC per glass. It features free flamenco shows 1-3pm and 9pm daily ($4-$18, Mercaderes e/Amargura y Brasil - Old Havana). Current word is that its better for the flamenco show than for the food

This nautically themed tapas bar/restaurant might have been transported from Cádiz's Barrio de Santa María, so potent is the atmosphere. Old-world tapas include garbanzos chorizo and other seafood.

“Another one of my new favorites, great atmosphere, lively, with tables on the street at a corner with 3 sides. The bar has unusual drinks. They also have octopus (which I love) grilled and Peruvian style. ”

Elizalde is on Calle Empedrado 521 entre Monseratte y Villegas, near the corner with Monseratt, also known as Avenida de Belgica (two blocks into Havana Vieja from El Prado). The workers are nice. The food is interesting and consistently good. If you drink such things as Khalua, try an Orgasmo, which has Khalua, Baileys and Amaretto over ice. (Tell them Mike the writer sent you and maybe they will treat you specially.)”
