Tips from locals
Topanga Canyon is one of the most beautiful areas in LA and the State Park is vast, the largest urban state park in the nation. Hike, picnic, or just soak in the views. It's an LA that not everyone know about and it rocks.
Topanga Canyon has hiking. excellent restaurant called INN OF THE 7th RAY.... Beautiful setting..... must see. Shopping... yoga studios... but the park on Entrada is nice too.
Best hiking trails in the Santa Monica mountains that are close by with exquisite views of the mountains and ocean - quite easy trails to hike
Great 30 minute drive down Pacific Coast Highway. Moderate trail, stunning views.

“Local food magazines consistently rate this the best deli in Los Angeles, and that alone is worth the drive to this north Valley location. The atmosphere is standard issue delicatessen, it's the wonderful service and the great New York style food that really shines here. Pick a comfy booth, scan the huge menu, sit back and relax. The huge sandwiches are stuffed with lean tasty meats and made with soft, fresh rye bread that's truly wonderful. ”
