Not cheap but has been good quality, and good food, - it has been incredibly busy since reopening after lockdown. The pub is now fully open (as of April 2023) but you need to book for eating on Weekends. this pub has recently been sold after the excellent refurbishing by Julian Dunkerton and run by his gastro pub group - the Lucky Onion - and is now part of Youngs Pub Co. - the excellent main front of house service person and head chef are gone, but the service and food quality remain high.

Good gastro-boozer, worth a walk over the common for - esp for Sunday Lunch and an amble back.
