For all the history buffs, George Washington Carver National Monument is a must-visit site while you are in Joplin. The site preserves the boyhood home of George Washington Carver and consists of a 3/4 mile nature trail, film, museum, and interactive exhibit area. It is open year-round from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM... but we suggest calling ahead to confirm these hours!
