Beautiful historic mansion that is a must-do while in Independence!

This 31-room mansion was built in 1881 and described by the Kansas City Times as "the most princely home and most comfortable home in the entire West." It may be the best example of a Second-Empire style mansion in the US. Museum with reasonable admission fee.
