Craigievar Castle is a fairytale castle, an example of Scottish Baronial architecture and is a fantastic stop with imaginative kids. The great tower stands just as it did when completed in 1626.

It’s a beautiful pink castle. The tours are amazing. And if you visit some of the other castles in the area the history really comes alive

“With a core that possibly dates back to the 1450s, Castle Fraser is a fabulous place to soak up the atmosphere of old Scotland. Later additions made the building into a huge fortified structure, one of the largest tower houses in the country. Home of the Fraser family for more than 400 years, the castle is filled with family portraits, ornaments and mementos – all of which have their own colourful stories to tell about the lairds. No Jamie Fraser of Outlander fame here, but worth a visit nonetheless. An hour's drive from Copper Beech B&B.”

“Haddo House has something for everyone. Visit this Scottish stately home with "the clean elegance and swooping lines of the Georgian style with a luxurious Victorian interior." Explore the terrace garden, or enjoy a long walk in the substantial grounds where dos are permitted. There are toilets and a coffee shop on site.”
