This is a nice spot off the scenic Railroad Grade Rd that runs along the New River. It’s got a mile long walking loop trail by the river as well as picnic areas.

Update 2023, this hike may be closed due to reconstruct of trail. Close to the cabin, short hike, close to Todd This is a good place to hike before or after a little visit to Todd, NC. It’s just a couple miles away from Todd on Railroad Grade Road. It’s a circuit hike around the island which is surrounded by the New River.
