The Old Soldiers Home Golf Course is a really, really beautiful place. I believe it's the 2nd largest piece of land in D.C. This is where President Lincoln had his cottage. You can go tour the grounds and see the cottage. Only members can play golf there, but they occasionally allow you to give the course a test run if you're considering joining. They may also allow you to play the course for the guest fee, which last I checked was about $20 per 9 holes. The course is very well kept.
