Family owned and operated in the neighborhood for over 40 years. It’s a local favorite for East End residents and UH students! This Italian-style deli is a not-to-be-missed hidden gem!

Easy to get to if you have a car, a little bit further if you walk - good sandwiches and italian food, open for lunch and dinner (closes around 6-8ish depending on the day)

Casual, family-owned Italian restaurant/deli. Family friendly and good for takeout.

Café
“Bohemeos is a coffee bar and cafe during the day, and a live music venue at night. The lobby doubles as an art gallery and the exhibits change monthly. All their coffees are hand ground and brewed via slow-drip. It’s the best coffee place on the east side, and a great place for business meetings, brunch, or a quiet solo place to work away from the office. Sit outside on the patio and listen to their water fountain; it’s really peaceful! ”

“The famous Telephone Thai! Nothing great to look a, but the food is incredible. Mostly known for lunch. But dinner as well, double check their hours!”

American Restaurant
“This is one of my favorite places in Houston to grab a Texas style burger. Before going, check to make sure they are open as they have strange hours. The building also isn't the most appealing place on earth but the food is cheap and great! ”

Grocery or Supermarket
“For a more "south of the border" experience, try Fiesta! This is just a normal grocery store, but they have a much more interesting international selection, and also sell cowboy boots, tortilla presses, straw hats and such. ”

Bar
“Not the best part of town but such a great frozen drink menu and eclectic decor. And the Waffles and Chicken are stellar. ”
