Why locals recommend it
This is a traditional Clapton pub just a few minutes away from Brew Club, so I spend a lot of time there. The staff is unwaveringly friendly, and the massive beer garden is lovely in the summer. They have good beers on tap—a range of keg ales, cask ales, and craft beers, some from small local breweries. The food is excellent, too. Modern British pub grub is done with real imagination here, but if you’re just after a decent pint and something to snack on, treat yourself to an Oakham Ales Citra and a black-pudding scotch egg. They’re proper scotch eggs with a runny middle—always a good thing.
Tips from locals
Cross the Lea Bridge roundabout, stay on upper clapton road, just past Clapton station on the right, this is a great spot - always really good music, food and a good selection of drinks. Big outdoor area with heaters, and cosy inside. Sometimes with a fire inside too!
This is our local. NO TV , NO LOUD music. Just friendly , family run pub full of lively conversation and good food. It is a little pricey but well worth it. It is our local. Sunday roast is to die for.
A gastropub with a country feel, dishing up seasonal British food and spilling out onto the Common.
A gorgeous restaurant and pub situated on the edge of Wimbledon village. You'll feel like you're completely in the countryside. On cold nights, it's a wonderfully warm atmosphere inside. Get yourself a glass of wine and a spot near the fire.

“Lovely little Italian place, just past Southfields station. The food has always been good, with delicious and authentic Italian flavours, complemented by a decent wine list. The pasta dishes are just fantastic, and there's enough choice on the menu to suit most dietary requirements. It's worth noting, however, that this is nothing like the American Olive Garden chain!”

“The former home of the Duke of Cannizaro, Cannizaro House is now a four-star hotel. If you are visiting the area, and looking for a place to stay, then you won't be disappointed with Cannizaro. But you don't have to be sleeping over to enjoy the facilities. It has a beautiful garden that is free to anyone who wants to visit, and they do outstanding afternoon teas.”
