The Turtle is only 30 minute drive from here. They have a restaurant and buffet and plenty of slots and table games if you enjoy gambling. Note: smoking is allowed in entire casino

Something fabulous is always on the menu at St. Croix Casino Turtle Lake. Whether you choose elegant a la carte dining in the smoke-free Me-Ki-Noc Restaurant, all-you-can-eat fare in the TLC Buffet or a quick meal at the Concession Stand, you’ll enjoy dining at its best.

Park
“The hiking trails are wonderful in the Governor Knowles State Forest! 40 miles of trails are available for hiking; the Brandt Pines Trail System and the St. Croix Trail Campground System are both great, close trails. The Brandt Pines trail with it's 8 miles of cross-country skiing trails is a lovely way to spend a winter's day! Bicycles are allowed on all the trails! Trails are off-road, non-paved, and vary in difficultly. Wear tick/mosquito spray during spring/summer days. Make sure that you dog is protected. If you bike or ski, you need a WI State Parks Trail Pass - $5.00 a day. ”

Park
“Interstate Park is Wisconsin’s oldest state park, established in 1900. Located along the picturesque St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, the park has beautiful views of the river and the steep-sided gorge known as the Dalles of the St. Croix. It comprises two adjacent state parks on the Minnesota-Wisconsin border, both named Interstate Park. The Wisconsin park is open year-round and offers nine miles of trails, two campgrounds with 85 sites, and a swimming beach on Lake O’ The Dalles. Vehicle admission sticker is required to visit state park system properties and a state trail pass is required on certain trails. Both of these can be purchased online, via telephone or at the park. ”

“Go here on a hot summer afternoon to feel the buzz of exciting Balsam Lake. This is a hole in the wall bar that has access from the road or the lake. Better than expected service and food for a dive. Perfect for people watching. Average age range 35-45. ”
