Coolum’s Point Perry is one of the best whale watching vantage points on the Sunshine Coast. The raised lookout is the ideal location for taking in the magnificent Humpback Whales during their migratory season. Point Perry is easily accessible by car, and is a popular year-round destination for walkers enjoying the breathtaking Coolum boardwalk.

Pt Perry can offer some very challenging right hand barreling waves in the right conditions. During cyclonic swells or big southerly swells this can be one of the most challenging waves on the Sunshine Coast. Point Perry is a lookout located just south of Coolum Beach. There is a walk you can take from the main beach to Point Perry. Follow the Boardwalk from the Surf Life Saving club south along the beach with the ocean to your left as it follows the coastline for around 600m.
