This is a significant lock on the Thames where the river stops being tidal. There are 4 locks for different sized boats and a ramp for kayaks and paddleboards. The lock is manned 24/7 365 days a year by staff and volunteers. An RNLI station is also here. It’s a pleasant walk across the bridges to the Teddington side where the Anglers Pub has a great riverside garden, The Wharf restaurant and the Flying Cloud café (open during warmer months). Teddington High street is a further 5 minutes walk and has restaurants and independent shops. The main lock island has been closed during covid times but the lock is still a fun place to watch boats. The island between the 2 bridges can be accessed by a small path on the right after the first bridge.

A pretty lock and weir on the River Thames along the tow path. There is a footbridge connecting Ham to Teddington. A lovely walk.
